Meningitis Survivor Helps Others

A female meningitis survivor who lost both her hands and feet to meningitis disease is going to one of the poorest nations in Africa to set up a prosthetics clinic.

The Scottish amputee teamed up with Glasgow City Council to establish the clinic.

She hopes to ship out 300 pairs of shoes to Africa, which already runs a workshop for meningitis sufferers. A variety of medical and educational projects are in the works.

Her goal is to provide prosthetics and orthoses to people who have lost a limb so they get back their independence and dignity. There is a great need for these types of services and devices to aid the meningitis population.
